thunderbird 115.2.2 fails to follow links

more options

I recently installed thunderbird 115.2.2 I notice that when I click on a web link (either in an email or in the menu (as in <Help><Get help>), thunderbird opens the default browser window (Waterfox in this case) but fails to put the link into the address bar. If it is a link in an email I need to copy and paste it manually. If it is a menu choice there is nothing for me to do.

I have searched and searched. Finally found an answer at Stack Exchange forum Basically had to go into <Settings><General><Files & Attachments> and where it listed 'https' choose <other> from the drop down menu and enter the specific path to my default browser. Once this was done Thunderbird now opens the default browser and goes to the link location as it should.
