I have a window open that will not close. When I try to close it a message pops up saying, Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Press escape or close this alert. Pressing escape or closing the alert does nothing. Restart doesn't work neither does a cold reboot. I even tried to uninstall firefox but I get a message saying firefox must be closed to continue and it can't be closed. Please help! This seems like some kind of virus.

Try temporarily disabling JavaScript. In the Tools menu select Option, then go to the Content panel in the Options window and de-select the setting "Enable JavaScript". Close the Options window and then try to close the tab. You can then re-enable JavaScript.

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.
