Firefox did not allow ghostery download. Why? Should I allow it, anyway?

I read in the paper today that ghostery browser extension is available within Firefox. I couldn't find any reference to it, so I tried to download it. Firefox said it was not allowed, but I could check on allow to let it go forward. Why is it not allowed and should I check allow?

The Ghostery add-on is available for your version of Firefox, you can get it from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ghostery/

If you are having problems installing it see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons

On a side note, you should upgrade to the current version of Firefox (Firefox 3.6.13)
