Unfortunately my server, Qwest insists on passing its obligations off to Microcrap and hence Windows Live (aka Hotmail) is my email service. I can sign in but when I attempt to log off I am informed that Windows Live can't log me off as I have blocked cookies. This is not the case as I have checked in options ans cookies are enabled. Another irritation w/F4= Where is my 'stop loading this page' button? It is not next to my 'Home' button.

In firefox 4 there may be a separate button available, but by default the button appears within the location bar (where you type in the URL/Address), and I think only shows up whilst a page is loading.

I have been using hotmail Today with no problems on firefox3.6.16, and have used it recently with firefox4, maybe it would help someone trying to answer your question if you are able to quote the exact error message you receive. Also note Hotmail has its own help site and forums

Thanks John99. I too had no problems with the previous Firefox but several glitches have arisen since I downloaded F4 and it is most aggravating. I just attempted to solve the "cookie" problem using the info on the F4 getting started page and still no luck. I would willingly return to the old FF in a second if I could. Seems to me this new version was released a tad soon. I am not a geek and I am totally impatient...a bad combination in the virtual age.
