It is irritating when the dialogs are for the identical domain. Usually they are different in some respect -- whether it's a slightly different subdomain or a third party cookie -- but occasionally you get a rapid-fire flood of them. I've stopped using that option, so my memory of it is fading. (I spent at least a decade reading and clicking those dialogs in Firefox and IE before that. But last year I changed my default to allow all cookies just for the current session. I have to manually allow persistent cookies for the few sites I want to remember me from session to session, and advertisers can watch me for hours at a time if I hadn't already blocked them before. I think this is a better use of time and a reasonable balance of privacy compared with answering with all those dialogs.) If Firefox is not correctly remembering previously set permissions, this could indicate some file corruption. I'm not sure how to remedy that without starting from scratch on your allow/block list, but another contributor may have some suggestions.
