Firefox 7 is slow in loading web pages (over a minute and I give up, but I walked away and they eventually loaded) and IE loads them quickly. I tried all the help solutions with no change. I disabled Norton with no change. I am running Windows 7.

When I restarted in safe mode, everything worked fine, so I disabled add-ons and plug-ins one at a time but couldn't find any of them that were causing the problem.

I had the same problem and found the solution here here

The solution involved going to about:config and changing "network.http.max-connections" line value from 256 to 48

Had similar, upgrading to dev't version 8.0 defaulted it to 30. Works fine.
