Ok I deleted Firefox because I never used it, but the site that my professor has us using requires FF. So I attempted to re-download FF, and I drug the icon into my applications folder and when I tried to open the browser I got an error messages telling me that my "Profile" had been lost. I do not know that this means, or how to fix it.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
