When I open a new FF tab a new Windows 7 aero preview window opens on my task bar. I only want this for a new FF window. Not for every new tab.

I have Windows 7 with the Aero function enabled. This allows me to see previews of multiple open sessions of a certain programme. e.g.: If I have 2 Explorer sessions open and I hover my mouse over the Explorer icon on the Windows taskbar I see previews of the respective sessions and I can switch between them. With Firefox I see a preview for each open tab (which can be a lot). I want to set this to only see the open session and not the open tabs. Thanks!

You should be able to switch between windows only and all tabs here:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Tabs

Uncheck the last item: "Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar"

Does that work?
