my bookmarks sidebar no longer adjusts the width. i used to have it set at 3 inches, now it is like 6 inches wide and takes up entirely too much space.

the bookmarks sidebar used to have an arrow that you could make it display wider or narrower, but now it is gone. and while i'm on the net, i always have my bookmarks displayed, so i'm not talking about when you click on bookmarks and hover there. i'm talking about on the left panel window permanently fixed, and now it does not let me drag it to resize it, so i have to leave it displaying, taking up half my viewing screen, or i have to not have it displayed at all, and i want it there permanently but i dont want it this wide. why is the arrow gone to adjust the width??

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."

When in Safe Mode...

  • The status of plug-ins is not affected.
  • Custom preferences are not affected.
  • All extensions are disabled.
  • The default theme is used, without a persona.
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored.
  • The default toolbar layout is used.
  • The JIT Javascript compiler is disabled.
  • Hardware acceleration is disabled.

If not, see this:
