I have lost my new tab thumbnails, instead it has changed to the same website as my homepage.

I have lost the page when I click on my new tab it used to have thumbnails with my most used websites on. However it has now changed to my homepage website (facebook). I have tried about:config and the browser.newtab.url is set to about:newtab. However this has had no effect. Please help!

It's possible that one of your extensions is overriding the newtab.URL setting. If you review the list, are there any logical candidates? You might try disabling all newly installed, or nonessential, or unrecognized extensions and see whether that resolves it.

Also, probably not related to your problem, but Firefox has now been updated to version 20. To get all the security fixes, you should, too. You can use:

Help > About Firefox > Check for Updates button

If something is holding you back, what is it? Maybe there's a workaround.
