Flash Player 13 crashes with Mac OS X 10.6.8

more options

Any version of Flash Player 13 crashes on activation.

Installing FP 12 as suggested allows Flash Player to work, but FF 28 plugin check complains "Out of Date" plugin. Update.

How serious is the security issue of running this older version of Flash Player?

(How serious is tricking the Java Installer to ignore the >OS 10.7.2 restriction?)

Thanks.

Adobe is aware of this problem. Unfortunately, in order to make both Firefox and Safari happy, you probably do have to use Firefox 12. This thread has more info and links:

Regarding the Java plugin, I'm not familiar with the issue. If it affects all 10.6 Macs, you might find a workaround on Apple's support forums or on another site if no one here knows the solution.
