Just happened on my moms computer. It must have been due to a virus. Restarted and checked for Firefox installation and it was nowhere to be found. All the Links to the icons were dead and I couldn't find the firefox folder on her computer. I'm hoping either Firefox deleted itself to stop the spread of the virus, or her Anti-Virus picked it up. There is no history of either of these things happening on her machine.

Only the user can uninstall Firefox. It has no such option. Where did that Firefox come from?

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

I downloaded it a long time ago . . . .

Then that programs is very out-dated. Please use the link above to get the full installer. If her ISP is not good, download it to a thumb drive, then plug it into her computer.

I'm not illiterate. It was set to auto update. I run all the updates and make sure everything is in working order. If you don't know what's wrong with it, don't try to make me look stupid because you don't know the answer.

You said; I downloaded it a long time ago

You did not say you kept it updated. And no, I don't know what is wrong. So I, and any others, have to ask questions and give advice on fixing the issue.

If one of us were sitting there with you, the problem might be fixed in minutes. Unfortunately, that is not possible. And this forum was invented.

And I never said or implied that anyone was illiterate.
