Unable to remove "important" tag from emails...

Team,

I'm unable to remove the "important" tag from emails. When I right click and choose "remove all tags", the important tag does seem to disappear. But once I go to some other mail, and come back to this one, it still continues to be marked as important.

The email account is via IMAP. I'm on Thunderbird 31.7.0 (Ubuntu 14.04).

Thanks!

Who or what did assign that tag in the first place?

When I right click

Where exactly do you click?

The email account is via IMAP.

Gmail?

The sender had marked it as important.

In the thread pane, I right click on the subject line of that particular email.

The email account is via IMAP.

No, Exchange.

No, Exchange.

This may be an interoperability problem with Exchange. Take a look at this article. It isn't a solution though. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Tags#IMAP
