fetching mail on multiple accounts
I have 4 email accounts. When I open Thunderbird, it will immediately fetch email from my gmail account, but not the other accounts. I have to wait 10 min for Thunderbird to check for new messages or just manually tell it to fetch the mail on the other accounts.
I would like Thunderbird to fetch all mail, on all accounts, when it first opens.

Hi there,
If you open your account settings (Tools > Account Settings), each account should have its own Server Settings, with an option to "Check for new messages at startup".
Could you check whether that box is ticked for every account?
Cheers.
It is ticked for every account. In the past I've tried unticking them all and reticking them. Didn't work.
Hmm. Are your three non-gmail accounts using POP or IMAP?
All four accounts are POP.
Could you try turning off "Automatically download new messages" for each account?
Thunderbird is probably downloading all new messages for each account before checking for new mail on the next account, which is causing the delay.
So I turned off the "automatically download new messages" yesterday for each account and this morning when I opened Thunderbird it didn't download anything. I had to manually tell it to Get new messages.
That's another thing - I can't just click "Get All New Messages" I have to select each account from the drop down menu under 'get messages' in order to get all the new messages.
