I create new tabs thru links and the + on the existing tabs. When I create a new tab that new tabs gets the focus. Lately, after the tab is created, if I move the mouse away from the tab the focus jumps to the last tab that had the focus. and it leaves my new tab UN-selected. How do I stop this? Jack

You can check the setting in Options > General.

  • Tools > Options > General: Tabs
[ ] "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
