I would like to permanently delete the messages in the junk folder after reviewing their titles. Currently I select them then delete them. This puts them in my trash can. Is there a way to permanently delete them without them first going to my trashcan like control delete or alt delete?

Unlike most (older) articles about deleting junk, in newer Thunderbird versions "Empty Junk" in the junk folder context menu was added.

Selecting it (i. e. right-click on Junk folder) should empty everything in your Junk folder, bypassing Deleted.
