If I left click on a link the window flashes and reloads. I can right click and open a new tab to connect but it has the same problems. After quitting the browser I have the same problem with the Windows file explorer. A reboot fixes the problem. File explorer works fine until I open the browser and after quitting the problem in explorer happens again. I have tried to refresh the browser but same results.

Hi, you are using a very old version of Firefox which can compromise your security and may be responsible for your problem. To update it to v41.0.1. If the menu bar is visible, open the Help tab > About Firefox. If the menu bar isn't visible press the Alt key.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

I was using an old machine, a backup when I posted my question. It wouldn't allow me to type. I am now using that machine. I have booted into safe mode and it appears to work. I will reboot and let you know if that cleared it up.
