I don't need your "reader view" silliness. I'm perfectly capable of handling how web pages display/provide content to me. I want to disable permanently the stupid "reader view" icon in my browser bar and there doesn't seem to be (at this point) any way to do that.

I'm using 45.2.0 esr.

Chosen solution

You can set this pref to false on the about:config page to disable reader view.

  • reader.parse-on-load.enabled = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
