I have email accounts with Yahoo and Google which I monitor using Thunderbird In Yahoo, when I click on Archive it goes into a folder for the year under Archive However in Google I've no idea where the message goes to, it just disappears Can anyone help me?

In google / gmail all emails are stored in the 'All Mail' folder.

Labels are applied so copies can be shown in specified folders like 'Inbox'. When you archive an email, those labels are removed, so the email is now only in the 'All Mail' folder.

So gmails's archive folder is the 'All Mail' folder. https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6576?hl=en
