Is there a way to move the spell check box so I can see the context of the spelling error?

The spell checking pane sits over the text of my message. I cannot see the context of the error being reported. It would be great to be able to move the spell check pane either up or down so that the e-mail massage can be seen.

Yes. the spell check pane doesn't move and when I move the e-mail window the spell checker pane moves with it. The spell checker pane is locked wrt the e-mail window.

could this be a mac problem? I am using windows and see no problem at all. Or could it be a theme problem. Mac uses appear to love themes.

Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.

Hello Matt

I followed your instructions and found that the spell check pane was still linked to the e-mail window. I couldn't move the spell check pane out of the way of the email text. Dave
