I getas phony FireFox update screen too frequently, and am unsure if my FireFox version has been corrupted, since Norton blocks the "attempted intrusion".

Firefox 55.0.3 is the latest version. If you are getting a screen warning you to update (usually an orange page with a Firefox logo in it that asks you to download a .js file) you may have malware. Follow these steps:

  • Install www.malwarebytes.org. Run it and remove anything it finds.
  • I suggest uninstalling and stopping payment for norton, as it's essentially useless and can cause more issues in your computer. Use the built in Windows Defender
  • Make sure Windows is up to date.
