I can't use my Gmail email any more. It may be my current version of Tbird is too low, but I can't find out what it is. I can't even find the help menu to go to the next step.

Chosen solution

Assuming you use Windows, press alt or F10 to make a menu appear. In that menu, go to View|Toolbars and select the Menu Bar.

Now you can go to Help|About to check your version, and if possible, prompt an update.

If your Thunderbird is too old, it may not offer an update. In which case, go to www.getthunderbird.com to download an up-to-date version.
