few days ago i got an update on firefox and ever since i can't load websites from a new tab(one that is opened from the "+" button next to the tabs), it just have the loading animation in the tab but it get stuck like that and i don't even see that little status box that tells you what the browser is doing like "transferring data from...", it doesn't seems like it doing anything and i don't have any problem with opening links in a new tabs so it isn't a slowness problem in my PC or my internet connection.

how can i fix this? can i cancel an update and return to the state my firefox browser was in the day before the last update?.

Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

STRM,

I have the same issue. What precisely did you determine to be the cause??
