I have Firefox set up to open PDF files for viewing. Everything has worked great up to yesterday. When downloading a pdf it open a new tab, and the another new tab, and then another new tab and kept going until I was able to shutdown the browser. At that time I believe there was close to 100 tabs open with the PDF file

Thanks - Uninstalled Firefox, deleted previous download packages and then downloaded and installed. Working fine.

That kinda actions sounds like malware infection. Opening a tab doesn't do that.

You get tabs opening endlessly if you select the Firefox program to handle a file When you get an "Open with" dialog.

Sounds that the builtin Firefox PDF Viewer is disabled or otherwise isn't working. You can check the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) in "Options/Preferences application -> General: Applications" and make sure it is "Preview in Firefox".

Does this link open a blank PDF Viewer window?
