When I bring up my e-mails, I get a message that centurylink.com is not connected. When I bring up centurylink.com, it's working fine. How do I get my emails?

When I bring up my emails, I get a message that "Centurylink.com" is disconnected. However, if I bring up their website, it's working. How do I get this problem fixed, so I can get my emails?

re : However, if I bring up their website, it's working. This has nothing to do with pop, imap or smtp so you cannot compare.

Is Thunderbird operating in online mode? In bottom status bar, far left, do you see a two blue screen icon ? If yes, you are in 'online' mode. If you see two black screen icon, then you are in offline mode and so cannot connect to internet to communicate via pop or imap. Click on that icon to change to online mode.

Check your Firewall which may be part of your Anti-Virus package. Thunderbird needs to be an allowed program. If not set as allowed then Thunderbird cannot use the internet. If already selected, do a double check. Exit Thunderbird. In Firewall, Unset thunderbird as allowed and ok it, Then access again and set as allowed. Firewall may have not realised that an update was the same program. Then start Thunderbird.

If this fails, please post the following: Help > Troubleshooting Information click on 'Copy text to clipboard' button In this forum question, right click in a Posta Reply text box and select Paste. You can delete/remove all info on fonts and printers but nothing else.
