address bar missing FF 59

The latest update to FF has 'deleted' my address bar/search bar. I can get it back by disabling addons - but I can't imagine adblock plus is causing this. I have adblock plus, buffer, ebates, and Webex plugins installed. that's it. Nothing else.

Also - who's the moron who made it so I can't move the address bar myself? I like a compact browser look, not some touch screen tablety thing, and for a decade have had the address bar right up next to the menu, above the tabs. Once i get the address bar back, can someone point me to how I might make that happen, if it's possible? it's one of the reasons i HATE chrome...

Note that you can adjust the Density via the Customize palette window.

Do you still have the Navigation Toolbar visible or is that toolbar gone as well?

Do you have a userChrome.css file in the chrome folder in the profile folder?

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Hello,

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Would you try to disable the add-ons one by one, till you find the culprit, please  ?

Hey all - I had already deployed the custom CSS fix, but that still does not let me have myaddress bar on the same line as the menu.

And funny thing, when I went to restart the browser to re-activate all the addins - the address bar returned on its own. So, go figure...
