Firefox only requests access to the camera when websites ask for access. The default behavior is to not grant access.

Granting the permission is a two step process with each step requiring the user to confirm the request. On the first camera request Firefox will show the Android permission prompt. If you choose to grant that request then there is a prompt from Firefox that requires user approval.

Firefox has camera and microphone permissions to support video chat websites such as https://appear.in
