On the website Lichess.org I want to able to use shift+right click to highlight moves but that also always opens the context menu. I understand that that is a often useful feature but in this case it is not. How can I disable it?

That is more or less baked in and can not change them at this time due to Firefox Security as well as yours. Most people use the 3 monkey programs shown here in conjunction : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/search/?platform=windows&q=keyboard+ this is about the most control you are going to get : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/shortkeys/

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
