Firefox crashes
CentOS 6 with KDE desktop upgraded today via standard Centos yum repos to Firefox Quantum 60.1.0esr (64bit)
Every dialogue that involves a file manager (eg upload in a website, browse in preferences, open a file in the browser Ctrl+O, and import a certificate into the Certificate Manager - there may be more I havn't found yet) causes Firefox to crash with no crash messages or other dialogue.
I have tried: (on 2 different computers both with CentOS & KDE and Firefox Quantum 60.1.0esr (64bit) ) Restarting with all Add-ons disabled Removing all add-ons, plug-ins and extensions and restarting Deleting the profile and starting from scratch Removing Firefox via Yum and reinstalling
Nothing has any impact on the browser crashing when any dialogue involving displaying a file manager was involved.
Any thoughts would be very gratefully received.

For anyone experiencing the same problems on CentOS 6, a kind moderator on the CentOS forums provided me with the solution:

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>.
Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.
The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.
For more help on crash reports, see; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-asking-support +++++++++++++++++++++++ If you can't get Firefox to open, you will have to do this the hard way.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozillacrashreporter Open the file browser / explorer on your computer. Note: You may have to enable Show Hidden Folders / Files. Enter this in the address bar;

Copy the most recent 5-7 File Names in the folder. Post the information in the reply box.

Hmm. That address doesn’t look right.
Please check that the URL is correct and try again.
There is no /home/<username>/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports/submitted folder nor files

Did you get your Firefox from; Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}
If not, please do so now.
Note: If the Firefox browser, the about: loads an internal page.
Third-party Linux builds may not have the crash reporter option.
All valid about: urls for that build are listed in about:about
I got my firefox update from the CentOS yum repos (As I previously stated) that I have been using for years.
I do not want to start installing from sources.
I have no idea what your reference to the about: internal page is:
My about:about returns -
About About
This is a list of “about” pages for your convenience. Some of them might be confusing. Some are for diagnostic purposes only. And some are omitted because they require query strings.
about:about about:addons about:buildconfig about:cache about:checkerboard about:config about:credits about:debugging about:devtools about:downloads about:home about:license about:logo about:memory about:mozilla about:networking about:newtab about:performance about:plugins about:preferences about:privatebrowsing about:profiles about:rights about:robots about:serviceworkers about:studies about:support about:sync-log about:telemetry about:url-classifier about:webrtc
As you can see..... no about:crashes
Oh, and please do NOT ask me to upload files - THE FILE DIALOGUE IS WHAT CRASHES THE BROWSER
