Then this would be a site issue problem as you mentioned other sites worked without problem.

mendeley web importer addon

Is that an extension made for Firefox? I have not be able to locate a Firefox add-on with that name. Or one that has been "modified" from the Chrome version for use in Firefox? https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mendeley-importer/dagcmkpagjlhakfdhnbomgmjdpkdklff?hl=en

If the functionality of that add-on changed after a Firefox version update, perhaps that extension lost some compatibility with Firefox 61.0 and needs to be updated to remain compatible with Firefox.

@chetanreddy, is there a reason why they can't put it on a FF addon page to download or is there something from that site that is the cause of the problem. I suspect the later is at fault here.

@WestEnd I got a reply from mendeley support team and they mentioned this in their reply--

Another user had the same query like yours. He contacted Firefox and according to Firefox Developers, version 60 (onwards) doesn't allow extensions to inject their code in PDF files, thus resulting to this issue. As the issue is not from Mendeley's end, a workaround is to download the PDF to your computer and then drag and drop them to your Mendeley library or you may just use another browser where it is working. *Hanzel

Can anyone validate this?

That would be True I guess as you do not have Firefox Developers here you have Volunteer Support. What the-edmeister's post above : said is true. The company has to make there Extension to the new API way of doing things and Firefox is denying permissions that could influence the security of the Firefox Browser.

This came out for release of ver 57 but the info still holds true.

When or if they do it will be available here : https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/ Besides Viewing and Printing and Print to to File in Firefox and also Adobe reader DC there are many fine extensions that may suit your purpose to use in Firefox as a alternative :

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Not really for us to validate. We here deal with what Mozilla releases to the public.

Try posting over at the Addons support forum about what limitations are imposed on addons for Firefox. https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/c/add-ons
