I have multiple verizon.net email accounts on t-bird. All receive mail. I can only send from one of the verizon.net accounts. Error message says "Request Failed; Mailbox unavailable"

In Tools/Account Settings, select an account in the left pane, then look at Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the lower right pane. Does each account point to the Default server (the one that does send), or does each account send over a verizon smtp server which has the same User name/password as the incoming account?

Thank you for your response

The account is labeled "Default" is the account that does send. Each of the other verizon.net accounts shows their own named server as outgoing. I have tried moving the default label to other accounts, but to no avail.

I don't know if Verizon insists that the non-default accounts send through their associated smtp server or if they can send through the Default verizon server. Set the Outgoing Server for a non-default account to the Default smtp server and see if it works.

You can change the Default account in Account Settings/Account Actions (select an account, then Account Actions/Set as Default), but I don't think that helps much or explains why the non-defaults can't send through their own named server (check that passwords and User names are correct).

Thank you for your response.

I tried most of what you suggested but to no avail. I think it is a verizon quirk. TBird allows me to send from as many GMail accounts as I need, so I will shift my (mostly) receive only accts from verizon to gmail.

Another option to consider is to add verizon accounts to your gmail account on the gmail website (Settings/Accounts & Import/Send mail as), then set the verizon accounts in TB to send through the gmail smtp. Recipients will see the message as coming from the verizon account. If you don't add the verizon account to gmail, but send through gmail, a message will be received as if it is sent from the gmail address.
