I apologize in advance for not understanding previous answers to similar questions. But please can you help me?

I changed my Gmail password and also changed the Thunderbird password but I keep getting this message in Thunderbird: Sending of password for user mail4njb@gmail.com did not succeed. Mail server pop.googlemail.com responded: Username and password not accepted.

Thank you.

You probably need to log into the gmail web site and enable less secure apps in your settings there.

Thank you Matt!!!!!

Hours ago I made that change but when I just checked now it was turned off, somehow it didn't update or something I did wrong.

So I sent myself a message in Thunderbird and the message appears in the send folder without an error message.

But the sent message doesn't appear in my Inbox, do I need to change something in Gmail so that new messages will appear on both my desktop and my Chromebook?
