I noticed with the recent update to Firefox that it was possible to disable video autoplay. I didn't see any instructions and must be overlooking it. How would I do this? I know how to disable the sound, I would like to also disable the videos themselves from playing unless I actually click on play. Thanks!

The new Block websites from automatically playing setting does that, to a certain extent. It will stop videos from playing on many sites (for example, on YouTube). However, it doesn't work on every website in every situation, especially when it comes to muted video ads. To learn more about this feature, see Allow or block media autoplay in Firefox.

The media.autoplay.allow-muted preference in the Configuration Editor for Firefox, does get prevent most muted videos if you set it to false.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. I didn't want to fiddle with the config settings but can try the other setting you mentioned. Thanks!
