I am sending emails to specific people, but I always get a bounce back for an email who is NOT in the recipient list. I get error 550, where is this email address hiding? This has been bugging me for a couple of weeks. I have ran virus and malware scans but everything comes back fine. I read it could be hidden in an undisclosed part of the email system so I turned this off (Options > Advanced > Config Editor > mail.compose.add_undicolsed_receipients > changed value to false) If I send myself an email with ONLY my address in the reciepient box, I still get this other account bounce back even though its not addressed to them. PLEASE HELP!

Chosen solution

This is a server side issue, and usually it means that one of the recipient addresses does not exist. In your case, this isn't the problem, so it must be something else. However this has nothing to with Thunderbird itself, so you have to contact your system administrator.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. Are there any settings within thunderbird that maybe setup to automatically forward any sent mail to this address that keeps bouncing back?

Hi! Thanks again for your help. I have logged into my webmail (talktalk) and sure enough, in the settings there is an 'auto forward' option which had been enabled [somehow], I have disabled it and I no longer get bounce back emails.

Hope this helps someone.
