I just got the nw upgrade for Firefox on Android, version 79.0.5 (Build #2015758619) AC: 48.0.15, 8755ac0cd GV: 79.0.1-20200813192915 AS: 61.0.10

Running on Samsung Galaxy A5 Android 8.0.0 Samsung Experience 9.0

On pages that used to show reader view yesterday, the icon is now missing. What has changed in the upgrade that disables this very useful feature? And I know for sure the website has not changed, so it's definitely because of the upgrade.

Well, reader mode in a private tab works for me on Nightly. So if it was a bug, patch is on the way to be released.

Hi Emily

Do you have an example of a page where this is happening?

more options

I did, but I just checked it again on the multiple websites that it was occuring on and now they are all giving me the reader view option. It must have been a glitch, though I have not restarted my phone or Firefox, just refreshed the page now and it was there. It was happening on a few news articles (the new yorker, global news, etc).

Thanks anyway for the reply!

Actually, I take that back, it seems to be a private mode vs regular mode problem. This is happening in private mode only.

Any update on this?

You are correct, they put out a patch for it. When I updated my Firefox, this issue was solved. Thank you!
