Any new website entered in the address bar doesnt load and tabs become unclickable
After the recent update 81.0.1 (32-bit), I have started facing an issue where after every few minutes of browsing, all my tabs become unclickable and hitting enter on the address bar shows its loading but the website never loads. Trying to close firefox using the close button also doesnt work and I have to open task manager to kill the process and then start firefox again.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
I had tried disabling all extensions earlier and even refreshed Firefox but the problem didnt go until I disabled hardware acceleration.
So far I have not faced the issue again but if I do, I will start Firefox in safe mode as advised by you.
Thanks for your help.
The problem re-appeared and now I am browsing in safe mode. Will update with my observations.
Hi,
I restarted in safe mode as advised by you and though I didnt face unclickable tabs yet but the issue where I open a new tab to google something or enter an address in the address and hit enter and the tab keeps loading forever is still there. Same address loads immediately on any other browser.
Update: Unclickable tabs issue is coming while working in safe mode also.
I called for more help.
Thanks. Waiting for a response then...
Can you switch tabs via the keyboard (Ctrl+ PageUp/PageDown) ?
Try to open a new window to see if the Tab bar works in the new window.
You can look at browser.link.open_newwindow prefs on the about:config page.
- browser.link.open_newwindow = 3 [1:current tab; 2:new window; 3:new tab]
For JavaScript window.open() links:
- browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction = 0 [0:divert always; 1:divert never; 2:divert w/o features]
I will try switching tabs via keyboard as soon as I encounter that issue.
Meanwhile, I mentioned another issue where any site entered in a new tab does not load. I looked into the network activity in the developer tools and found that though I am getting a response from the server, same is not getting reflected in the Response tab.
For eg. Trying to load https://www.instagram.com immediately shows HTTP status code 202 and a content length of 32684 in the Response Headers. But I see no actual response getting reflected inside the Response tab and the site keeps loading forever.
Closing Firefox and re-opening it makes the problem go away and the site starts working just fine. This is same for any site that I try to visit not just Instagram.
Just thought of sharing this observation with you in case it is helpful in resolving this.
I have posted a reply however it is pending moderation. Request you to kindly approve the same.

Apparently it finally got posted. Please refer this.
Switching tabs via the keyboard (Ctrl+ PageUp/PageDown) did not work. Also opening a new tab and trying to visit any site at that point did nothing... no loading sign... absolutely nothing.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).
"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"
"Clear the Cache":
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content: Clear
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
Its not really helpful when you are suggesting me steps that I have already tried and also you are suggesting me steps "in case of issues with web pages" when it is clearly a UI issue that I have posted about. How is this related to unclickable tabs and not able to load any site in any new tab, etc.
I had already mentioned in my posts above that I have tried working in safe mode, disabling all add-ons, using default theme, turning off hardware acceleration, etc.
Did you try Firefox Safe Mode ?
Yes. If you go through the trail you will find that this was the first thing suggested to me which I did.
