I'm trying to "Archive" a Folder of 200 mails. But can't see how it works, other than selecting each mail & Archiving. Any Ideas?

Chosen solution

For the mail account, what have set up in 'Archive Options' ? As per info at link under 'Configure Archive folder structure' https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/archived-messages

If you have set up the Archive Options by year and to retain folder structure as per info supplied by christ1: Select folder Select first email Use 'Ctrl+A' to select all It will show as X number of conversations and offer two buttons. click on 'Archive' button.

Then under 'Archives' folder you should see eg: a folder with a year name and in that folder should be the name of the folder whose contents were archived.

Usually, the 'Archives' folder is within the same account and therefore not a problem. But, if this is an imap account folder you want to archive AND you have set up to Archive elsewhere like 'Local Folders' mail account then be aware of this...if you have not got copies of fully downloaded emails then you may discover you are only archiving a load of headers. This could have a drastic effect. The 'Archived emails get moved off server and the Local Folders account does not have full copies. So in effect you could lose a load of emails. If you are archiving outside of the imap account - Before archiving make sure you have set up Account Settings to get full copies downloaded first.

Toad, Sorry does not solve my problem. I have three Folders set up in T/Bird that I now wish to Archive. When I go into one of these folders & Select Ctl +A, all of the messages in that Folder go to Archive. But they show as individual messages. I want them in a Folder. You state that "and in that folder should be the name of the folder whose contents were archived." This is not so. This is because when I archive the next Folder I want the messages in this to be separate from the contents of the first folder. So how do I create these Folders within Archive Folder?
