Printing: Firefox slams "blank" window on top of print dialog pop-up when try to print
Have the latest version of Firefox (95.0.2) on macOS 12.1 on an M1-based mac. When I go to print from Firefox, a print dialog box with a print preview and controls pops up as I expect. However, Firefox then slams a full blank browser window on top of that that shows the URL "about:blank", with one tab labeled "Opinion". I have no idea why this is happening...the window can be dismissed, but it is annoying.
Any ideas where this extra Firefox window is coming from and how to convince Firefox not to generate this window? Not a showstopper, but just annoying.

I should add that my printer is an Epson ET-3700.
Having to add this as a reply, since I'm not offered the option to edit my original posting for some reason, sorry.
That is very strange.
When did this start?
Does this happen on multiple sites, or just on a particular site?
How are you calling up print, and does the method make any difference? For example:
- Command+P
- menu button > Print
- clicking something in the page
Yes, turns out it's just our local newspaper's eReader app printing. I'll see if I can bug report it to them, but don't have a lot of hope. Printing a web page or an email seems to work fine. Wonder if they test this stuff before releasing it? I wouldn't bet on it.
Anyways, not a global problem, just a local one...I'll have to take ownership of it, then.
Thanks for responding, got me thinking, unusual as that is :-).

I wonder whether the popup is supposed to show a PDF version of the article, or HTML, or what? If you get around to it, you could compare a different browser and see what the windows is supposed to show.
