If you are experiencing very slow page load speeds on a broadband connection, consider resetting Firefox to remove a buggy add-on or setting change. This will delete all your add-ons, themes, and download history, and return your settings to default. To do this visit “about:support” and click Refresh Firefox.

Refresh should be at most a last resort. Page loading time depends on content and what other pages you have open. You can look at about:memory, about:performance and about:processes. You could also try deregistering bots with about:serviceworkers. Extensions are unlikely to be a factor but you could test that (and other things) by using troubleshoot mode.

A security software ESET has been the cause of recent problems downloading add-ons.
