Syncing Mobile Devices
I do not have any mobile device to sync with Firefox. HOWEVER, I would like to sync with Outlook.com from Microsoft. Centurylink my ISP provider was off-line for quite a while so they could create a better email program and when they finally came back online, last week, there were a list of things in computer language that I am supposed to do but do not understand. Like you, whenever I want to ask a question I have to send it via email then the response is the same thing listed in their instructions, NO HELP at all. Now, on a daily basis, I am receiving emails from Microsoft Outlook stating "Please update your credentials for the account Rhonda89@q.com." "It looks like we don't have permission to get email for Rhonda89@q.com."
The daily emails from Microsoft Outlook started on October 24, 2022, about the time Centurylink Email came back on line, I think. They did not send any messages advising us of this. I happened to find the information when I looked for it online.
I am still attempting to reach someone at Centurylink for help...lol
In the meantime, is there anything you can do to assist in this endeavour.
Thank you, Rhonda Caywood

There was another question about Centurylink that suggested that they changed their POP port number from port 110 (insecure) to port 993 used for secure TLS connection.

You need to check the connection settings in your email client and modify the port number.
If this is about Thunderbird then I can move the question over to Thunderbird Support.
Hi Cor-el
Thank you for your response, nothing solved just more questions. I'm not sure where the idea of Thunderbird came from. I have been using Firefox for too many years I guess, and I access my Microsoft Outlook which is my email account through Firefox. I know that I don't have to do it that way, I don't even have to login to Firefox. I can open a browser to access Outlook use my login for Microsoft Outlook and I'm good to go.
NOW I JUST CHECKED MY FIREFOX LOGIN, IT SAYS RHONDA AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE RIGHT HERE WHERE I AM TYPING THIS MESSAGE BUT WHEN I GO TO OPEN APPLICATION MENU IT STATES ACCOUNT DISCONNECTED. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE!! I don't know why it even says that because I wouldn't be typing this email to you if I had been disconnected. My name would not appear at the top of this support page with an option to log out.
So, What is Firefox Relay for?? I thought it was a way to still use my Outlook email account but bypass all of my personal information. But apparently that's not true according to Dropa. It is amazing, however, that whenever I log into any account there's that purple star waiting for me to use for WHAT? I don't know why it's there.
If syncing is only for a MOBILE device why do I have purple stars on everything I attempt to log into on my PC?
ALSO, I have asked this question many times with NO response, Why do my Firefox pages say Windows 8? I'm looking at the top of this SUPPORT PAGE right now and the tags say, and this is a copy and paste so I didn't make it up.
desktop Firefox 106.0 WHY HASN'T FIREFOX 106.0 BEEN UPDATED?? This is NOT the most current version. sync WHAT DO I SYNC? Windows 8
I have NEVER used Windows 8 in my life, EVER! I am currently using Windows 10, but no matter what I say you don't fix it. It has been this way for months and months and AGAIN, I DON'T know why. One day I turned on my computer and that is what changed for that day. Like so many other things in Firefox that I don't understand or I don't know what I'm supposed to do with your messages.
I have come so close to deleting Firefox, and I know it matters NOTHING TO YOU whether I do or I don't. Firefox is the most confusing, convoluted, mess I've ever used. I wanted to be protected which is what you promote, of course that is a false statement, but I can barely get around in Firefox. My bookmarks are such a mess I have no words. I have changed the order in which they SHOULD be presented but the next day all of that is back to the mess again.
It isn't that I've never used computers before, I have in many jobs including assisting in setting up remote systems so don't think I'm stupid or clueless. Firefox is a wretched piece of work and support is worse. I've haven't had a response EVER that makes any sense, sort of like the response from Dropa. Where did I say Thunderbird, WHERE? These are the types of responses that make we want to change my browser to MS EDGE. Well, thank you for the link. I'll see what help lies therein. l

Ignore the replies by Dropa if Thunderbird means nothing to you.
In your Question Details > More System details on right of your post your UserAgent appears to be "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; Win64; x64; rv:106.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/106.0"
The NT 6.2 is Windows 8 as per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_NT
However you say you are using Windows 10 so perhaps you are running Firefox in Windows 8 compatibility mode for some reason as there is no need to. Neither Mozilla or the Firefox web browser made this change. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/make-older-apps-or-programs-compatible-with-windows-10-783d6dd7-b439-bdb0-0490-54eea0f45938 https://www.lifewire.com/run-older-programs-with-windows-10-compatibility-mode-4587064

Hi Rhonda, from your original question --

-- it sounds like you may have set up your Centurylink mail in Outlook.com as a connected account. They no longer allow that, so I can't do any testing myself, but I found a couple articles about it:
If you go into your Outlook.com settings and look at your Centurylink address, can you see any way to manually edit the connection settings -- assuming they have changed and the configuration needs to be updated? Be careful not to delete the entry since I think you would not be able to add it back again.

Can you attach a screenshot that shows what changes you need to make?

I don't know how I seem to lose complete replies, but if I click on a link you have suggested and I have an open tab there shouldn't be a problem. When I go back to my reply or your questions the whole thing is gone. Then I have to go back to my email and click on your email to me so I can find where I am. I don't know what I am doing wrong but I will need to rewrite my entire reply when my mind isn't so rattled.
jschesr2000 - your links seemed to be information regarding other devices like iOS, etc. I do not have any other devices.
cor-el - It took me a while to remember where I found the information for Centurylink then it dawned on me, I found it online because I couldn't get into the email account. That is where I found DO THIS first:
POP: pop.centurylink.net, Port: 995 Security: SSL IMAP instructions SMTP instructions
My daughter thinks I make things to hard but when I ask for her help she doesn't know what to do either. So I remind her that she has an IT person at her workplace that does everything for them, no worries for her or others. I remember those days, but they are long past.
