My bookmarks and most history no longer accessable. They may be gone. I need to know where they are stored so I can make sure they are gone. If they are gone I have other machines which do have bookmarks. I think there is a way to copy the bookmarks from one system to another. Hopefully that information is in the main default-release and I can move a copy to the lacking bookmarks closer to the machine with no bookmarks and import what I need?

Both bookmarks and history are stored in places.sqlite in the Firefox profile folder.

See also "Places Database" -> "Show Statistics" in "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support).

You need a (possibly internet based) SQLite Viewer application to inspect the database.
