I am using a primary password. However the password is required when I open Firefox as well as for password protected websites I visit. Is there a way to not have to put in the primary password every time I open Firefox? I feel duplicate protection is unnecessary and time consuming.

Thank you.

shirleyanncoulson, do you use Firefox Sync? The Primary Password can be requested at start-up because it is needed to unlock the credentials that Sync uses.

Note that canceling a PP prompt will re-lock the Password Manager. If you enter the PP once during startup, then you should only get a new PP prompt if you try to view a password in about:logins.
