Firefox will not start and gives me an error message saying it cannot find the file, even after going into the firefox folder and clicking the firefox.exe icon

Upon attempting to load firefox i recieve the message: "Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe'. Make sure you typed the file name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click search."

None of the icons in the search window will open either, all giving the same error message.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

several weeks ago.
