The bookmarks bar has a background that is messy and makes the bar hard.It look like one had chosen a fancy piece of stationary to print the bookmarks on. I would like a plain background and bigger pring for the bookmark bar

Sounds that you installed a Persona.

You can uninstall your current Persona and revert to the Default theme (Tools > Add-ons > Themes). See
