When I login to websites, Firefox asks if it should remember the password. I click 'remember', but then nothing happens (this bar with buttons should dissapear at that moment). The settings are all set to remembering, I've checked that lots of times ;-), but no passwords are remembered. This is frustrating. What I tend to want to do is reinstall firefox (remove and reinstall), but then I will lose all my bookmarks?

Well, thank you! But of course that was the first thing I did. The settings are all OK. After trying all help things (see above) I posted this question as a last resort. I don't use a master password, so that doesn't apply really. Thanks anyway!

Just to be sure I changed signons.sqlite 's name (from the suggestions above), and tried it out. Nope. It being not helpfull I decided to change it back. I discovered that a new signons.sqlite file had appeared. Strange? Anyway, it didn't work.
