for the last 5 days ff has started logging me out of my sites (forums etc). Re-installed still doing the same, and i have noticed everytime i open up ff it searches for add ons it has never done this before. I have it on my netbook and desktop, the laptop has exactly the same settings but they keep me logged in whereas the laptop wont. I totally uninstalled every trace of ff from the laptop before re-installing from fresh, if i log into a site, close ff it has logged me out. Up until a week ago it had no problem at all keeping me logged into any site.

  • Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
  • Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
  • In Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.
  • Do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and password exceptions.
