How can I fix an "Invalid URL" problem on Firefox/Gmail?

As of yesterday, when I try to access Washington Post headlines through Gmail via Firefox, the Post page opens but clicking on any headline brings up an "Invalid URL" error. This does not happen if I access Gmail via Chrome, or if I go to the Post web site directly with Firefox. It's only the Gmail/Firefox combination that produces the error. It worked fine until yesterday. Is there a fix I can try? Using Toshiba Satellite laptop wireless, Win 7.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
