I need to go back to an earlier version of firefox because my evernote extension does not work with firefox 4. How do I do this?

I use evernote many times a day. When I upgraded my firefox to version 4, evernote web clipper no longer works from the button bar on my browser. Because I use this ALL the time and did not mind the previous version of firefox, I need to get the old version of firefox back. No offense but getting my info into evernote is more important than browsing with the new version of firefox.

How do I do this, please?

The latest version of Evernote Web Clipper is shown as compatible with Firefox 4 - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/evernote-web-clipper/

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.

To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

After trying this, the Clipper button does not appear with any version of Firefox now (3, 4, or 5), even though it is reported as active in the Add-ons dialog. Moreover, something is stuck in the header bar because the new upturned tabs do not appear when I install version 4 or 5, which should have them.
