When I attempt to update to the latest version of Firefox, I'm given a message that certain programs that I have are incompatible and that an update will disable some of my existing program applications. Avast Anti-virus and Internet Security is one of them.

Is there a way to make the latest Firefox version compatible with Avast and is there a list of known programs that Firefox is incompatible with that you could provide for my information?

Thanks.

You can look at the new pre-release version of Avast.
