Since upgrading to Firefox 5, dropdown boxes on websites no longer dropdown. They work OK in IE, Chrome, Safari, et al and they worked in FF4 - just not FF5. This appears to happen on all websites but I can't believe that something this glaring hasn't been noticed by anyone else, so I'm guessing something peculiar to my setup. I can't fill in the "This happened" box - the dropdown won't work!

Same Problem here. Win 7 64 bit, after Update to FF5 no more HTML Dropdown works. I try with all addons disabled and with a new profile, nothing works for me.

Pleas help!

Good to know at least I'm not alone :-) Just got arount to installing FF5 on my laptop, also running Win7 32bit, and HTML dropdowns work fine there. I'm sure there's a clue there somewhere but short of uninstalling everything on my desktop PC that isn't also on my laptop, I'm not sure how to find it. I'm forced to use clunky IE9 at the moment

Not really a solution, but appears to be the cause of the problem (at least for me). Having "Actual Windows Manager" running is the cause of the problem for me. Stopping the program or closing it down makes the problem go away. I will submit a bug report to Mozilla and Actual Tools.

Yeah! Actual Windows Manager was the problem...now it works! Thanks!

Actual Tools replied to my report and I have a bit more info that may be helpful to you. Under specific settings, I had managed to have 2 settings for Firefox (I've been using Actual Windows Manager a hell of a long time) and it was that that was the actual problem. More specifically (they said) it was that both setups moved FF to monitor 2 at FF startup. Deleting the second one solved the problem completely. No more having to stop AWM and no more problems with FF5!

The Actual Windows Manager was the issue at my side too. But the issue started when I updated from FF 5 to 6. I got crazy as I couldn't find a reason, plugins and addons disabled didn't help...

I had the same problem with FireFox 11.0 and Actual Window Manager 6.6 on Windows 7 x64. I found that drop down menus on a web-page displayed in FF stop to work if StartUp-MoveToMonitor option or Size-SaveSizeOnExit option of the AWM SpecificSetting for FF is activated. Finally, I solved the problem using the tip described by Pim Joosten here: http://www.actualtools.com/forum/read.php?FID=10&TID=1642 I.e., by disabling WindowClass option and defining the FF TargetWindow in AWM using WindowCaption-SubstringMatch option.
